Cosmic #30 – Alisée de Tonnac

Building Resilience & Stimulating Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets
The rest is taking over the West.
This week I learnt that change in emerging markets is to a great extent driven by entrepreneurs and startups who are shaking markets from the bottom up, often threatening industry and public services with product and service disruptions that simply do a better job than what established players have offered so far. Even NGOs can see the rug pulled from under their feet. There must be a reason for it!
I met with Alisee de Tonnac, co-Founder of Seedstars, who in 2013 jump started what now became the World’s Biggest Startup Competition in Emerging Markets.
We talk about whether profit should be seen as a driver for a bottom-up revolution, driving investments, building resilience, what entrepreneurs in emerging markets bring to the table and how the new generations think and see the world.
As usual, I learnt a lot and could expand my horizons, as well as confirm the urge for more Cosmic episodes dedicated to the countries beyond “the West” – We’re working on it 🙂
Looking forward to receiving your thoughts at hello@becosmic.org.
Dance, do more, be cosmic. 🕺💫💫
