Embracing Risk, Pooling Funds & Activating New Economic Models (Philanthropy Special)

How are you thinking around risk?

Are you a high-risk high-reward kind of person? And what if you had only a limited amount of time to achieve the impossible?

This type of questions becomes very real when looking at climate change. If 10 years is all we have to reverse the destructive trend we initiated, shouldn’t we be getting out of the safe zone and fundamentally rethink the rulebook?

This is exactly the challenge Leslie’s organisation is taking on. She represents Platform For a New Economy (P4NE) – a group of 4 family foundations who are asking the big questions and fund those with potential answers. And yes, it’s risky.

I let you uncover some of their projects and core principles via our conversation. Through Leslie’s portrait, we talk about moving away from incremental philanthropy, breaking barriers between donors and grantees, gender equality, changemakers and the new generations, the power of listening, mushrooms, and last but not least…collapse.

As always, music set the tone.

Looking forward to receiving your thoughts at hello@becosmic.org. I reply all emails.

Dance, do more, be cosmic. 🕺💫💫

Camille.
