It’s quite disarming to realize that the way we experience life is mostly based on the structure of our mental world, and that the structure of our mental world affects our reality. Is it that obvious? Is this true? How so? And what does it mean for the stories we tell and the work we produce as artists and influencers of culture? My name is Camille, you’re listening to Cosmic Dynamics, 5 min of exploration on art, change, & the music of the universe. At Cosmic, we just opened a new chapter in our research on change, perceptions, narratives and the arts: we are currently looking into the structure of the brain, studying the organ and how it works, in detail. What does the structure of the brain have to do with perception and storytelling? Well, we experience life through our mental world, it is what drives everything it seems. When we learn about the structure of the brain, we learn about the structure and experience of our mental world. This has been a topic stuck into pop psychology for a long time and I can already announce that, as we are currenlty diving into the most comprehensive body of research on the subject matter, the conclusions we are going to be able to draw for our practice are going to be very meaningful. We’ll take it one step at the time, through Cosmic Dynamics, Cosmic Live and through our workshops and community projects.
